The library offers the following regular programming for children:

1,000 Books before Kindergarten : Parents can sign their toddlers from birth to age Kindergarten up for a special state sponsored initiative that encourages parents to read 1,000 books with their children before they reach Kindergarten. Studies have shown that reading with your child helps prepare them for formal learning environments. For more information, please come to the library.

Pre-School Story Hour
Join Mrs. Grainger on Thursday mornings at 10:00 am for Pre-School Story hour. Mrs. Grainger will read stories, conduct activities and provide a snack for children from ages two to five. Preschool story hour follows a seasonal themed schedule and includes social time for mothers and their children to engage in literacy and motor skill basics.

Wednesday After School Maker Programs
The library offers maker programs for children between the ages of kindergarten and 6th grade on
Wednesdays 3:30-4:30 pm. These programs will require parent sign- ups. Examples of past programs include: Legos, snap circuitry, stamp art, card making, origami, and scrap-booking.


Speaking Stories for the Web have published their stories, poems, and illustrations for your reading pleasure!
